Kitchen Before and After

When we bought this house in the spring 0f 1992, the first thing I said when I saw the house was, "Oh, I will have to paint those kitchen cabinets white", to which my hero replied, something like, "over my dead body, those are beautiful oak cabinets"! Well, for years I just let it pass. Then last year I brought it up again, explaining to him, that the kitchen was so small and dark that I thought it would really look a lot bigger and for sure much brighter if the cabinets were painted white and............

Ta da.........what do you think????

Oh, I luv, luv, luv it!!!

Once again, a little paint and a little time and a whole new look!

As you can tell it was fall when I took these pictures. Don't you just luv the my little hen, she is so adorable. T. J. Maxx, baby!!!!

And here's another chick from T. J. Maxx! I also Luv this photo of my Poppa and Grandma, it was one of the last ones I took of them together.

And here is the table I bought from Lou. She gave me such a good deal on it.....I feel like I kinda stole it!

And this Hobby Lobby pumkin holder just brought all together.

Thanks for dropping by for a visit. Come back again soon.

Blessings!

I love the new look Becky! Painting the cabinets and changing out the table made the room so much brighter and larger looking. It's all very pretty - thanks for sharing the before and after pics. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Looking good! What a huge difference some paint can make. We painted our cabinets as soon as we moved in and I love the way they turned out. Your kitchen looks great!

I have been wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets white for a while now. They are beautiful custom maple so it scares me a little but I do think they would look good white. Now to convince Hubs!!

Your kitchen looks absolutely FABULOUS!!

Nice! My old kitchen is white--I think back in the 40's and 50's a lot of them were!! I can't believe you waited so long to do this!! We often fly Southwest when we go to Seattle (I saw you work for them?). They are a fun airline.

Your family looks as crazy as ours! nice to meet you.

See, its the same thing with men all over. Even Sheila had the same thing, she wanted to paint the den paneling. 10 years it took.

Your kitchen has taken on a new life. Paint is the quickest way to change a room and you sure did a bang up job. I too had dark cabinets. I got some paint when hubby was out of town and the rest is history. I have my white kitchen. Now I am still working on him on the den. Sheila of Note Song said to keep working on my hubby.

I love your family, you are blessed and I see you have a sweet furry one too.

I see you love the lord too and Chocolate. If you can find it, try Dagoba Organic Chocolate, Its awesome. You can google it or I have a link on my side bar. I have tried chocolate from many places. This is by far the best and they have so many unusual flavors and very very dark chocolate.

Good meeting you.

OH! one more thing, Is that an aluminum tray on the top of your frig? I collect aluminum trays, takes me back to my past. If that is one. I have never seen one like that. Aluminum trays are called the poor man's silver. I love the handles on these trays.
