Gulf Shores

I can't believe it's already been two weeks since we were in Gulf Shores. Gosh, time flies when you're havin' fun!!!

There's nothing better than going to the beach and getting your toes all sandy.

Unless it's flying your favorite kite!

We love going to Gulf Shores before the summer crowds arrive.

And then, there's my heroes trusty alligator that he makes every year.

And what would a trip to Gulf Shores be without a trip to Lou's Lou's for some good ole "fried green tomatoes".
And after all these years we still love each other and still love to write our intials in the sand.

Happy Mothers Day to my Momma

Cade, Ridge and Gi Gi

I'm not going to be with momma for Mother's Day this year. My sister, Susie gets to be the lucky one. Momma is going to Susie's for the next couple of weeks in Mississippi and my hero and I will be at the beach for a few days.

I'm going to re-run one of my past blog posts. If you've been following my blog very long you will probably remember it and for those of you who've recently started following my blog, I hope you enjoy it.

My sister, Susie and I used to spend a week with our grandparents each summer and I remember even though we had tons of fun, we both always got homesick for momma. Poppa and Grandma lived only a block from the railroad tracks. Each day several trains would come through town. If they were south bound towards Newport the two of us would blow kisses as the train went by and whisper softly "kisses for momma, kisses for momma". A few years ago Susie surprised me with the following poem and I will cherish it forever. Thanks Sis for the memories:

Kisses for Momma

It was a game my sis and I played,
While in bed, right where we laid.
There we waited for that lonesome cry,
Of the whistle on the train, that would soon be by.

When we felt the rumble so close and nearby,
We covered our mouths with our hands and then let them fly.
"Kisses for momma! Kisses for momma"!
We'd both whisper, as soft as can be,
Because Grandma and Poppa were trying to sleep.

Each summer we went, eager to see,
Grandma and Poppa-sweet as could be.
Our days were so fun, full and free,
Cause we could do most, whatever we pleased.

But we still missed momma, especially at night,
And we couldn't wait to turn out the light.
We eagerly waited for the sound of that train,
And sent out our kisses to momma again.
"Kisses for momma, Kisses for Momma"

I LUV YOU MOMMA!

Conway "LUVS" Kris

It's getting down to the "nitty gritty" now. There are only four!
My guy Kris Allen is still in the running! Run Kris run!!!

I went to Conway last Wednesday to get my haircut. And let me tell you Conway has painted the town for this young man. MTV had been to Conway the day before and local Patrons certainly let it be known who Conway was pullin for!

His name was plastered everywhere, as you can see in the following pictures.....

Girls, if you're watching American Idol and wanting Kris to win.......ya gotta vote!!! I usually start voting about three minutes before time. The lines have actually been open a couple of minutes early all season. Don't forget to watch at 8:00 eastern!

Rain, babies, cupcakes and salsa

Girls, I don't know about y'all but my hero and I have threatened to send a dove out to see if it returns with anything. LOL Seriously, I don't think I can EVER remember it raining for this long. Maybe the sun will come out sometime this week!!! If not they may have to send me to the funny farm!

Look at this sweet guy. Our little Caders! He spent a couple of nights with Pop and Mimi last week and let me tell you he is one sweet boy! Bless his heart we didn't get to spend much time outside playing for all the rain. However, it didn't stop him from getting to ride the golf cart with Pop, play ball, build tents inside with Mimi, have a popcorn party.......

and one of his favorite things.....feed the fish. Oh my, he wanted to feed the fish several times a day while he was here, so that's what we did!
After I took Cade home on Friday I drove over to the Heights in Little Rock to a cute little shop called Cupcakes and guess what I bought......you guessed it, CUPCAKES!!!

Oh my, don't they look yummy! I bought a red velvet, white coconut snowball, white mocha chocolate chip and a fresh strawberry!! Eating two of those at one sitting would kill a person! But boy howdy were they good and worth ever bit of $2.95 ea.

Saturday, I literally did not get out of my jammies all day long and to tell ya the truth I don't think I brushed my teeth until late in the afternoon......hey just gettin real here.
My hero did manage to go out in the rain and pick some yummy cilantro that I am growing in my pot garden. Did I say pot garden......whoa! NOT POT GARDEN as in marijuana ! GEEZ.....I'm gonna get the police snoopin around over here if I'm not careful. Oh sorry, back to my story. What I mean't was my garden I'm growing in pots (that's better). Anywhooty, I made some delicous salsa using a recipe that sweet Judy
posted on her blog a few days ago. It's Chili's salsa and man was it easy to make. So run on over and give Judy a visit and get her recipe. It's delish!
That pretty much wraps up the weekend. Did you girlies do anything exciting over the weekend. Stay tuned because in the next couple of days I'll be revealing a wonderful blog giveaway that I won last week.
