God's Paint brush

A few days ago Alvin and I drove up to winterize our boat and God provided a beautiful backdrop for us to enjoy. Arkansas is truly one of the most beautiful states in the USA especailly during the fall. Please enjoy..........

This last picture was taken here in our home town. Isn't this tree braggin'! When the girls were home, every morning on our way to school during the fall we would watch this beauty as it would go from green, to red, to orange, to yellow and finally bear. Isn't it funny how the smallest things in life make you smile :)

WARNING! WARNING! EMERGENCY SUBJECT CHANGE!!!! OK, this is November 10th and I'm ready for spring again. It's 31 degrees this morning!!! Burrrrrrrrrrr!!!! The Mullins' family does not, I repeat.......does not like cold weather!!!!! It was supposed to be rainy today and I was going to stay in my jamies all day, do laundry, finish decorating my christmas tree (yup, you heard me), drink hot tea and make a big pot of Taco soup! Well, actually I'm still going do all that, except now I will put my clothes on, bundle up and walk!!!! I sure hope I don't freeze to death!!!

For those of you who need to warm up those bodies and you don't feel like getting out and walking or going to the gym today, here's my Taco Soup receipe........

2 lbs ground beef

1 or 2 cans of rotel (depending on how spicy you want it)

2 cans stewed tomatoes

frozen corn (or you can use 1 can of whole kernel and 1 can of cream corn)

1 pkg. taco seasoning

1 pkg. ranch seasoning (not dip)

1 can pinto beans

2 cans chili beans

small onion

Brown ground beef. Drain. Add taco seasoning and ranch dressing mix to ground beef and stir. Add canned ingredients and corn (do not drain). Bring to boil. Cover, simmer on low for 30 - 45 minutes. Serve with tortilla chps, sour cream, shredded cheese, salso, etc. Enjoy!

Becky, The fall colors you captured are beautiful. Growing up we had a neighbor with a tree just like the one you reference. Still all these years later, we ride by that tree and admire. Here in Georgia, it was 34 this a.m. Thanks for the recipe - that sounds like a great idea for supper tonight.

The colors of the trees are gorgeous. I'm so jealous that our trees don't change colors. Sorry you're freezing your toes off. That part I'm not jealous about. :-)

Becky, I clicked on your blog when I was on Brandee's blog (The Berry's Patch) and I think it is beautiful. I am so glad you gave out that taco soup recipe. I would have never thought to use ranch seasoning. I am going to try that. Your family looks gorgeous and happy. Have a great day!

Hi Becky, thank you for dropping in, I love meeting new people. But, I wanted to tell you how you just brought back a sweet memory for me. My Mom also would sometimes make pink divinity with red food color. I totally forgot about that. Also, I have a collection of my friends in Blogland recipes. I will add your Taco soup recipe to it.Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Chris

Hi Becky, I know what you mean about cold weather...I am not a friend to it at all! I make a soup very similar to your taco soup...but it is called texas stew...maybe I will share that sometime! Oh, I love that tree! The beauty this time of year is breathtaking! Blessings to you, Nancy

Hey, Becky!
I always wonder why people go all over the world to see the sights and we here in Ark have probably the most beautiful landscapes anywhere!!

I love Taco soup. But I have noticed everybody's Taco soup taste different. Sort of like how everyone's slaw and potatoe salad is different.

I love that Taco Soup recipe, too. It is one of my family's favorites.

Sorry you are so cold! I'm not a fan of cold weather, either!
