I'm a little irritated

Could someone please explain to me why people in our country are willing to pay $150 million for this............

When this little fellow will go to bed hungry tonight!

I DON'T GET IT!

I'm just a little irritated after reading how much was going to be spent on this Inauguration.

I get aggravated by stuff like that, too. AND remodeling the White House, etc. And we have people in our town losing their jobs and the nation is wondering what Michelle Obama will be wearing on Tuesday!!

My husband and I were just talking about this very thing! It just makes you think "What the hell....?"

Hugs!

THANK you! This is just completely insane. BUT, it goes to show you the priorities of this country. Which is why it is suffering so. America needs to reassess and stop obsessing. Who cares what she's wearing!!? I know I sure don't. What about the people that have not.

I'm with you !
Unfortunately it is not the only huge waste of $$$$$ that has gotten me on my soapbox as of late.

SOOO frustrating!!

It's funny that you posted about this! The other night I was watching the local news and found out that the University of Arkansas' new Chancellor chose to use the money that would have gone to his formal inaguration for scholarships! It will create 50 scholarships worth $1,000 a piece!!

Think how many people could have gone to school with the money from the Presidential Inauguration!

I agree totally. If the country is in such bad shap why do we need to speen so much , it could be scaled back a lot. They need to just get to work on fixing the economey.Kathy

I'm with you Becky. Seems like such a waste when people are freezing to death from the bitter cold. The money for the Super Bowl irritates me too!

I feel the same has you! So many things are out of proportion in our country. For instance the huge amounts of money pro atheletes earn compared to the salary of teachers. As my son used to say when he was little, "Not fair!"

Honey and I were discussing the cost of the inauguration. I told him I can't we taxpayers are paying for that. I couldn't agree with you more, there are so many more things out there that are way more urgent than this.

As I read the rest of your comments I say to the Chancellor of AR-Woo Hoo! Way to Go! Too bad more people are inclined to do those type things.

Oh, right on!...and as long as I'm ranting along with you...how about Nancy Pelosi spending $480,000 a MONTH flying herself back & forth home after only 3 days in D.C. Grrrrr! ;-) Bo

Amen sister...it seems quite a bit out of touch with the REAL PEOPLE! I thought this regime was going to be different. I just heard on the TV if you didn't fork out $50,000, yep that's right FOUR ZEROS.....you couldn't get into one of the balls or stand at a good place for the parade! Unbelievable.

I totally agree...he's the one talking about hope and change...and he is spending more money than any president in history has spent! And the funny thing is the democrats were torching Bush for how much he spent...and then are completely SILENT on this ridiculous show! Hypocrasy anyone?

I just don't understand that either. We have people all around us losing their jobs. I have a friend right now who is having a baby in March and she and her husband work for Alltel and will be losing their jobs soon. It is just heart breaking.

Really shows the misplaced priorities of our country, doesn't it?

So true! Especially in light of our economic crisis. I would think that the powers that be should have taken that money and put it towards the people! Ugh!
