Trying to find the beauty

They said it would come.......and it did! Our annual ICE STORM arrived during the wee hours of the morning.

My sister and I recently had a conversation about not liking winter.......AT ALL! So now she is trying to find the beauty in all things winter. Well, sissy.......if you are reading my blog today I hope you are enjoying your abundant sunshine and your 70 degree weather while I am sitting HERE trying to find the beauty. Let's see......the beauty of this big ole tree is .........no branches broke off and poked my eye out while I was taking this picture.

The beauty here is........I didn't fall and crack my skull open while running from a falling branch which landed on top of our house. WHEW! That was a close one!
It won't be long until this Crepe Myrtle will have big ole pink blooms.
Now she's a beauty.

I found it! The beauty today.......a hot cup of cocoa, a warm fire, a laptop computer and warm flannel jammies. Aaaaah!

And he has no clue! Other than BEAUTY sleep. HA!

So what beauty have you girls found today.

By the way, it sounds like a war zone outside. The branches are breaking right and left and hitting the top of our house and our lights are blinking on and off. So if you don't hear from me for a couple of days it's because I'm trying to find the beauty......... in the dark!

Okay you got me laughing(that's the beauty of my day). Even tho the ice isn't much fun and rather dangerous it is beautiful how it coats everything. But I have to admit that cup of cocoa looks delish and I love that cup. How cute! But truthfully I think Bosco has found the best beauty of the day; a nice, toasty spot to close his little eyes and have sweet dreams. Stay warm sissy!!!

It always amazes me how cats can sleep so soundly (especially with ice-covered branches falling on your roof!) I agree with Susie, you've made me want hot chocolate. I've heard that ice is good for crepe myrtles too!!!!! That's the beauty - more vibrant blooms for summer! By the way, on Prairie Prologue's blog, she's having a contest to name her Ragdoll cat! If you still have power, you should play along. The winner gets chocolate from Italy!

I am hoping so hard that we don't lose power. If it does what they say it is going to, I have a feeling we will at some point. The beauty for us today has been all day in pajamas and a nap with a snuggly little girl and giggles coming out of a little boy happy there is no school!

We had school today. We were supposed to get a lot of ice, but my area didn't. I think we will tonight though. I went to see my dad in the hospital at lunch time today. I like to spend time with him by myself. He is really doing well. We are ready for him to come home. My mom sure misses him. I do too. It's hard to find beauty in a day like today. It is awesome to be home now with my hubby and little girl.

Oh my, glad you were home safe and sound. Nothing is worse then an ice storm. We are getting the ice right now on top of about three or four inches on of snow. I'm not a fan of winter. I think your cute kitty has the right idea and the hot chocolate sounds good too. Stay safe.

So glad you averted that limb. I live in SW Mo and we have had yucky weather too and it is snowing on top of all the yuckiness right now. So fun!!

Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn

I absolutely love the trees covered in ice. All that white! It's just a beautiful sight to me. My husband had to fly to New Orleans yesterday and comes back tomorrow so I'm sure he's not happy right now.

I have lived in Florida all my life and sometimes I get really sick of the heat. However after reading your post...(take a look at my recent post) then I think that maybe its not so bad after all!
